I remain optimistic about the company and, overall, I find the products themselves and the support to be quite good.Disk encryption software is provided by Microsoft under the name Bitlocker.

Just for completeness, you should know that in addition to several Reflect Workstation licenses I also license the Site Manager product. I have reported V8 issues which still have not been addressed (admittedly, some of these issues only apply to execution on my creaky old Win 7 Ultimate system and do not appear on my Win 10 systems). When the change activity goes to zero for nearly two months it raises concerns. For what it's woth, I was not among the folks griping about the rate of change, rather, I very much appreciated the frequent updates the implication was that the company was paying close attention to the needs of their customers, and product quality and reliability was important. I suppose the "update frequency " thing is a bit ironic. My problems with Win 11 principally have nothing to do with Macrium Reflect they are all either Microsoft bugs and misfeatures or issues with products from other vendors. I haven't looked at anything for V7 since I switched over to V8 quite some time ago (somewhere around late June 2021).

Thanks for the interesting info about the V7 update as it applies to Windows 11.

After multiple previous threads of gripes about Macrium issuing updates too frequently for some people's taste (even though people aren't required to install every single update and that the people whose issues are fixed probably appreciate getting an update quickly), now we have a thread asking why we haven't had an update recently. I agree it's probably too early for Reflect 8.1, but you never know.Īnd I can't help but be slightly amused by this thread. The drive letter issue can be worked around, and the Fix Boot Problems and ReDeploy issues only apply when you need to use those tools after a restore. Even the Win11 fixes mentioned in the V7 release aren't essential. That said, V8 seems to run perfectly fine on Win11 for me. There was just recently a thread about drive letter issues in new V7 release for Win11, so maybe they're trying to fix that. That was more than a few days ago, so maybe they've since become aware of some other issue(s) that they want to fix as part of the next release. Macrium replied saying that it was expected in a few days. (I personally think that based on the technical details of that issue, it's a bug/error on Microsoft's part, but evidently Macrium managed to work around it.) When that V7 update arrived, the person who created that drive letter thread asked Macrium when the corresponding V8 update would be released, since he was running V8. That was discussed in another thread here and may have led to that fix.

One of the Win11 fixes pertains to drive letter assignment on Windows partitions created by clean installs of Windows 11. Reflect V7's update for Win11 dropped on October 16.
